Interesting article. Don't forget we also spend more money than other countries looking for "illegal aliens." We have an obsession with aliens ;)

Maybe they all support SETI - as long as someone else is paying for it.

Somehow the US is populated with people who know that if you want something done, you're going to have to do it yourself.
